BMW X6 Engine and Performance Options

The BMW X6 can be as aggressive as you’d like in terms of performance. The standard arrangement gives the Sports Activity Coupe® (SAC®) plenty of oomph, but it’s the M versions of the model that really help the BMW X6 transcend your typical commuter car.

At its base, the BMW X6 utilizes a 335-horsepower 3.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine and an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with Launch Control to jettison from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.3 seconds. Those are bristling acceleration times for a large SAC®, especially one that still returns an EPA-estimated 21 city and 25 highway MPG.*

Alternatively, you can move to the BMW X6 M50i trim that trades in the 6-cylinder engine for a 523-horsepower 4.4L BMW M Performance TwinPower Turbo V8. With the same transmission in place, this version of the SAC® reaches 60 MPH from a standstill in 4.1 seconds, while returning an EPA-estimated 16 city and 22 highway MPG.*

Finally, the top version is the simply dazzling BMW X6 M iteration, which provides up to 617 horsepower from its 4.4L BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8 motor and boasts a 3.7-second 0 to 60 MPH time!

BMW X6 Values Practicality

The performance numbers of the BMW X6 are hard to believe, yet the SAC®, with its sloping coupe-like roofline, still offers everyday usability. Riders in the front will enjoy the spaciousness of 40.4 inches of legroom and 60 inches of shoulder room. In the rear, folks will have 35.7 inches of legroom and 57.7 inches of shoulder room.

If you’re planning a long trip across the state, you can use your BMW X6 to bring along goods and supplies as well as people. First, the SAC® can tow as much as 7,200 pounds if you opt for the available factory-installed trailer hitch.

Then you still have the trunk to utilize. With the second-row seats in the upright position, the trunk delivers 27.4 cubic feet of usable space. You can more than double that room, however, by dropping those second-row seats, which opens up 59.6 cubic feet of room.

BMW X6 Makes Driving Easy and Enjoyable

With the ability to cater to everyday needs while also still delivering a certain brilliant excitement that BMW has become known for, the BMW X6 is a charming SAC® with unique styling. Is there a version of the BMW X6 you prefer over the others? Or perhaps you might like to test drive a few iterations around Dedham, Westwood, and Norwood, Massachusetts? Whatever the case may be, contact our BMW of Norwood team to get started!
